The XR5.0 project successfully convened its 5th General Assembly (GA), held on 7–8 July 2026 at TAP Air Portugal’s facilities in Lisbon, Portugal, bringing together consortium partners to review project progress, exchange key insights, and coordinate the next phase of implementation across the consortium.
During the meeting, partners discussed the latest technical developments across the project’s work packages, including progress on the XR5.0 platform, AI/XR integration, human-centric digital twins, and XR-enabled Operator 5.0 training solutions. Special attention was given to the ongoing pilot activities, validation efforts, and collaboration between partners to ensure the successful deployment of innovative XR technologies in real industrial environments. The meeting also included a visit to TAP’s aircraft maintenance facilities, where partners experienced a live demonstration of the Personalised Aircraft Maintenance Training pilot.
The 5th General Assembly reinforced the consortium’s shared objectives, strengthened collaboration among partners, and established a clear roadmap for the upcoming implementation, validation, and exploitation activities, supporting the project’s vision of advancing Industry 5.0 through human-centric and AI-enabled XR technologies.
