NEW BOOK CHAPTER: ‘Legal, Ethical, and Human Oversight Aspects of Human-Centered Remote Maintenance and Asset Management using XR and AI Tools’

As part of the dissemination activities of the XR5.0 project, a new book chapter titled “Legal, Ethical, and Human Oversight Aspects of Human-Centered Remote Maintenance and Asset Management using XR and AI Tools” has been developed, addressing the legal, ethical, and human oversight aspects of XR- and AI-enabled remote maintenance and asset management.

The chapter, co-authored by members of the XR5.0 project team, explores key considerations surrounding the responsible and human-centred adoption of Extended Reality (XR) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies in industrial maintenance and asset management.

The publication is expected to appear in February 2027 as part of the forthcoming book AI-by-Design: Integrating Privacy, Security, and Ethical Governance in Health, Industry, and Society, published by Springer Nature Singapore.

This contribution highlights the XR5.0 project’s commitment to addressing not only the technological opportunities of XR and AI, but also the legal, ethical, and governance considerations essential for their responsible implementation.
