The XR5.0 Project was presented at the IEEE International Symposium on the Emerging Metaverse (IEEE ISEMV) on 24 October in Cyprus, alongside fellow Horizon Europe projects Geniverse, MetaCities and Sincere.
The presentation highlighted how XR5.0 combines XR, digital twins, and trustworthy AI to support Industry 5.0, with solutions validated in real-life industrial applications, including training, operator support, and product design.
It also showcased the project’s LLM engine, developed by (INNOV-ACTS). Through an AI/XR API, the engine brings retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) and agentic GenAI capabilities to XR applications, grounding responses in plant and industrial documentation and leveraging technologies such as ChatGPT and Mistral.
The presentation also highlighted XR5.0’s leading role in the BeyondXR cluster, which connects more than 17 EU XR projects through webinars, joint publications, and an open-access book planned for publication in 2027.
The event provided a valuable opportunity to share XR5.0’s progress and exchange insights with other European projects, strengthening collaboration across the XR ecosystem and supporting the development of immersive technologies for Industry 5.0.
